is co-founder of Leo Storytelling and an award-winning director and producer who started at ESPN back in July of 2002, working on the acclaimed series 30 for 30. He has directed multiple documentaries including the hit 30 for 30 film
Believeland. He has worked on

Playmakers, and is also known for the films

Bad Boys. Billman’s work as a director and producer has led to two Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, and an NAACP Image Award.
Producer & writer
is co-founder of Leo Storytelling and an award-winning sociologist of race, Black social movements, and social inequality. She holds a Ph.D. in sociology from Northwestern University and is on the faculty at the University of Southern California. She is the author of several articles and an upcoming book on cover-ups and Civil Rights Movement protests within prisons. Friedman has previously served as a technical advisor, producer, and executive producer on for art, broadcast, and film. She is a Black feminist scholar and poet, and trained as an archival researcher and interviewer with over a decade of experience constructing life histories and digging up hard-to-find information in private and public archives. Her work has earned her awards from the American Bar Foundation, National Science Foundation, and the American Association of University Women, among others.
Storytelling requires a keen eye, collaboration, and the organization to build compelling visions into concrete realities. We highlight stories that have never been seen before, and reimagine those that haven't been properly told.
